Cancer Cars

Cancer cars is a database to assist finding help with transport to cancer treatment. From their website:

Cancer Cars Scotland is a database of volunteer driving schemes for cancer treatment in Scotland.

This website is designed to assist health professionals, people with cancer, their relatives and friends to find voluntary organisations in Scotland which provide a personal transport service to hospital appointments.

One in three of us will get cancer and it’s the toughest thing most of us will ever face. If you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, or a loved one has, you’ll want a team of people in your corner supporting you every step of the way.

We provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care.

Living Well @ The Library with Macmillan Cancer Support

Our opening hours are (from Mon 21/11/11):

  • Erskine Library Mondays, 11am-2pm
  • Ferguslie Park Library Wednesdays 11am-2pm
  • Renfrew Library Tuesdays and Thursdays 1-4pm

We offer anyone affected by cancer a free, informal and confidential service with access to good quality information and support. We welcome all visitors to the centre with a friendly smile and a listening ear. The service is staffed by experienced Macmillan professionals and by trained, dedicated volunteers.

We provide:

Cancer Care

CancerCare is a local charity dedicated to the support of people with cancer, their families and their carers, and those bereaved by cancer. Their services are available to anyone in North Lancashire and South Lakeland. From their website:

CancerCare aims to work with people as they come to terms with and manage these changes, in particular by providing relevant information and emotional, social and psychological support.

CancerCare's services are all offered free of charge by experienced and qualified staff who are selected for their sensitivity and interpersonal skills as well as for their ability in their professional fields.
