Health Visitor

Gail Dalglish

Our health visitors offer health advice and support mainly to families with young children. This includes help with parenting and behaviour management and also support to women with post natal depression. They see children for development checks at the GP surgery on Thursday afternoons at the Baby Clinic. At other times they are available for home visits as necessary. Please telephone them on 0141 843 4396.

District Nurses

There is a district nursing team under Cathy Quinn which carries out nursing care for the patient at home as well as providing care within the practice. Please telephone them on Tel. No. 0141 207 7760.

Practice Nurse

Sister Susan Simpkins is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner who can diagnose and treat many medical problems which previously required an appointment with a doctor. Please let the admin staff when booking an appointment as they will get you put in for the correct clinician.

Health Care Assistants and Staff Nurse

Adele Blunt is our Staff Nurse. She can undertake initial monitoring of chronic diseases such as:

  • Hypertension
  • Stroke
  • Epilepsy
  • Chronic Kidney
  • COPD
  • Asthma

She will sign post on for further assessment or management plans.

Her work also includes:

  • New patient medicals
  • cervical smears
  • contraception monitoring & administrating
  • lifestyle advice
  • weight management
  • injections
  • ear syringing
  • dressings
  • suture removal and blood sampling

Health Care Assistants

Our Health Care Assistants is available to:

  • take bloods as requested by clinician
  • blood pressure
  • weight and height
  • some minor dressings
  • suture removal
