COVID-19 Information (Updated October 2020)

Posted on by barony

Please note: our telephone lines will be closed 12-2pm and the practice will be closed 1-2pm every day to enable the practice to deal with the current situation. We appreciate your continued support at this time.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we have a telephone triage system in place.

This means that if you need to speak to a doctor, you have to phone and request a telephone consultation. When the doctor phones you back, if they decide you need seen face to face, they will arrange an appointment. You can call the practice to request a telephone consultation from 8.30am. Phone lines close 12-2pm, and it is emergencies only after 4pm.

You should only attend the practice in person if you have spoken to a doctor first, have a scheduled appointment, are handing in a specimen or collecting an urgent prescription. This system is in place to reduce the number of people in the practice and try to stop the spread of Covid-19.

If you have any Covid-19 symptoms, please do not come down to the practice.

Covid19 Assessment Centre Update

Renfrewshire COVID19 Community Assessment Centre (CAC) is now up and running. NHS GGC comms has created a YouTube video explainer for patients. The link to the video is here:

From Monday 23rd March 2020, ALL COVID presentations (fever and/or continuous cough) will be directed to NHS inform website and NHS24 telephone number 111.  This will be the first point of contact for all COVID 19 related symptoms – NOT THE GP PRACTICE.

COVID 19 calls will be triaged through a NHS24 hub and patients who need to be seen will be offered appointments at a dedicated local assessment centre staffed and equipped to deal with COVID –related presentation.
